The Alley
Description:
Tucked away in the Grotto Canyon drainage, The Alley is a narrow limestone band offering a compact collection of steep sport routes. Due to its sheltered nature and restricted sunlight, routes here often stay damp or hold ice longer into the season than more exposed walls nearby. Climbing is characterized by vertical to slightly overhanging power-endurance routes on pockets and edges. Approaches are short, making this a frequent destination when time is limited or when seeking refuge from wind.
Directions:
View on MapUp the right fork of the T intersection at the top of Grotto Canyon. Turn right at the Headwall, and follow a steep trail on the right up through the forest for about 5 minutes.
