This area has a good concentration of moderate to hard boulder problems. Landings tend to be quite good with a few exceptions. This area is quite sheltered from wind which can be great if you are out in the winter.
Go left straight from the headwall stairs, walking across the headwall until you reach stone steps going down into the forest. Follow the stone steps until you reach the three way fork. Go left turn following the red trail and descend. The area lasts until the red trail meets the blue trail by the river. Boulders are scattered, many are near the trail but some can be more difficult to find, use existing side trail and avoid creating new side trails.
