Healing Arete – V5 ^↓

Canada > Alberta > Frank Slide > Healing

Description:

On the south-east corner of the Healing boulder. Sit-start down and left of the low roof, matched on a left-facing edge. Move up and right, following the lip of the roof, gunning for a large, blocky jug. From here, move directly up the right side of the arete, avoiding the holds that lead further right (which is an easier problem, "Healing Arete Extension").

Needed the double knee pads and two different shoes for this to feel good! Top was somehow both chossy and super slick today- topped out a bit to the right so that I didn’t have a tragic fall. Really fun climb, especially the beginning sequence!

IDK if I was just tired from the day before but this one ended up being a bit of a fight for me. The bottom personally felt fairly cruiser but the last move for the lip bucked me off more times than I thought it would.

The most featured outdoor problem I've climbed to date, and a must try for anyone climbing at the grade. It's got a bit of everything: overhang, traverse, campus, and even a bit of a slab portion. Smooth topout awaits your already pumped out arms.

A great climb. If the top out seems a bit sketch, then you're doing it correct. If it doesn't, you're probably too much to the right.

Sit start is by far the hardest move of the problem for me. The rest is pretty easy. Guessing the taller you are the harder the start?
