First Flight – 5.14c

13 bolts
FA: Josh Muller - 2014-07-31

Description:

Great climb! This route was originally bolted by Lev Pinter a few years ago. This route starts on Prime Time, after you do the double gaston iron cross on Prime Time you move right through a powerful traverse until you link up with First Flight proper. Climb the subtle but dynamic face to a final crux right before the victory slab.

This is one of the best routes in the Bow Valley.

So this took a little while. Absolutely amazing. Not too sure how I managed to keep it together on the entirety of the top half, but very, very relieved I did. Hell yeah.

Great climb! This route was originally bolted by Lev Pinter a few years ago. I took this project on this summer hoping for a mega project but after a couple of very critical breaks I was forced to climb into it from the existing route to the left (Prime Time 5.14c). First Flight proved to be much more difficult that initially expected, I found myself maxing out on almost all of the moves. My first day of coming close left me shaking from adrenaline and fatigue for almost an hour after my attempt. Great line, feels amazing to put it down.
