Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between onsight, flash, and redpoint?

An onsight means you climbed the route on your first attempt with no prior knowledge of the moves. A flash is climbing it first try but with prior beta (like watching someone else climb it). A redpoint means you climbed it clean after previous attempts. These distinctions matter because Sendage enforces them — for example, you can't log an onsight if you've already logged project attempts on the same climb.

What is a First Ascent?

When you log a climb, there is an option to choose First Ascent. This means that you were the first person ever to send the climb. It usually means you're the person who cleaned or bolted the climb. But the key fact is that no one else has cleanly sent the climb before you. As recognition of this feat, you get a Star on your trophy!

Why can't I log a send?

Sendage validates your sends to keep your logbook accurate. Common reasons a send might be blocked: you're trying to log an onsight or flash but already have project attempts recorded before that date, or you already have a completed send (onsight, flash, or redpoint) logged for that climb. You can only have one primary send per climb — after that, log additional ascents as repeats.

What does Sendage Pro include?

Sendage Pro gives you unlimited send logging and access to detailed personal stats to track your progress over time. You also unlock community insights for every climb — the full send history with comments from other climbers, a grade breakdown showing how the consensus was derived, and stats like the percentage of first-try sends and average attempts. Subscribing also directly supports ongoing development. You can subscribe monthly or annually.

Will I lose my data if I cancel Pro?

No. Your climbing history, stats, and photos are always yours and are never deleted. You can continue logging sends after cancelling — you just won't have access to Pro features like detailed stats and community insights until you resubscribe.

How can I export my logged sends?

You can download all your sends as a CSV file from the Export My Sends page. The export includes the climb name, area, date, send type, grade, and any comments you've added. Free accounts can export once every 30 days (max 4 per year). Sendage Pro accounts have unlimited exports.

How do I add a new climb or area?

You can add new climbs and subareas directly from the area screen in the app using the action menu. New submissions go through a moderation review to ensure quality and accuracy before appearing publicly.

Why is my submitted edit not showing yet?

Edits to existing climbs and areas go through a moderation queue. A moderator will review your changes and either approve or reject them. This process helps maintain accurate information across the platform. You'll see your changes go live once they're approved.

I can't find a climb or area — can I add it?

Yes! Sendage is community-driven. If a climb or area doesn't exist yet, you can add it directly from the app. Navigate to the parent area and use the action menu to create a new climb or subarea.

Does the app work offline?

Sendage requires an internet connection to load climb data, log sends, and sync your profile. Some previously viewed content may be cached, but full offline mode is not currently supported.

What platforms is Sendage available on?

Sendage is available on iOS and Android. You can also visit our website at https://sendage.com.

How do I report incorrect information?

You can report issues directly from any climb or area screen in the app using the "Report Issue" option. This sends a flag to our moderation team for review.

Why can I not access my account?

Your account is linked to your email address. To log in, enter your email and we'll send you a 6-digit verification code. If you're still unable to get in, reach out to us at support@sendage.com and include a link to your Sendage profile so we can help.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through the store where you originally purchased them. On iOS, go to Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions. On Android, open the Google Play Store > Account > Subscriptions. On Web, go to Settings > Subscription > Manage to open the billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

How do I delete my account?

You can delete your account from the Profile > Settings screen within the app. Please note that account deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed.
