Vang Vieng

Set amid the dramatic limestone karst landscape of rural Laos, Vang Vieng offers extensive sport climbing on steep, pocketed rock rising directly from the rice paddies and river valleys. The climbing primarily features sharp, highly featured karst formations ranging from vertical face climbs to overhanging caves, with routes heavily concentrated around the Phra Ngang and Tham Nam areas. Development here has expanded significantly, providing a dense collection of well-bolted single-pitch routes suited to a range of grades in a tropical setting.
