Three conglomerate walls with a spectacular ocean view, high above the tidal rapids of Sansum Narrows. Tennessee, Eclipse and Woz Walls boast a number of fine sport and trad routes, mostly single pitch but also a couple high quality 50 meter two pitch routes.
Sansum Narrows was a major hangout for the UVic Rock Scaling Club starting at the beginning of the 1970s and many new routes were established back then, all of which were led on trad gear. Some of these new routes climbed are listed below, but the difficulty has likely changed due to the ever changing nature of the conglomerate rock here.
Turn East off of Island Hwy onto Trunk Road, turns into Tzouhalem Rd. Turn left at the roundabout onto Maple Bay Road. Turn right onto Genoa Bay Rd. One km past Birds Eye Cove Farm, turn left onto Stoney Hill Road, drive one kilometer, and park at Stoney Hill Regional Park sign. Take the main trail for a couple of hundred meters then go right at the tee, following the sign for an "easy" trail. Continue along this trail for a couple of hundred meters, then hop a cedar fence, and find the small trail to the left. There are ropes and stairs down, which lead directly to the base of the crag. Total hike to crag 10-15 minutes.
