First Cave

First Cave is a distinct limestone recess located in the Bataan sector of the Bow Valley. The climbing here is defined by the sheltered, overhanging nature of the cave formation, which keeps routes dry in light rain and yields steep, power-endurance routes on pockets and tufas. Approach times and route counts are modest, making this a useful option when neighboring open-air crags are seepage-prone or overcrowded.
