Crazy Horse Buttress
Description:
Crazy Horse Buttress is a prominent limestone feature offering some of the highest concentration of quality sport routes in the region. The climbing is characterized by steep, pocketed walls, stalactites, and tufas, requiring a mix of endurance and technical footwork. Routes range from moderate grades to demanding overhangs, set against a lush jungle backdrop. Due to the orientation of the cliff, shady spots can be found throughout the day depending on the specific sector.
Directions:
Take a night bus or train from Bangkok to Chiang Mai. Chiang Mai Rock Climbing Adventures does a shuttle from town to the crag for 300 baht with lunch and water, or rent a motorbike or scooter in town for approx. 250 baht. Turn left onto a dirt road before you pass the large mountain on the left side around 37km east of the city. Drive up the dirt road and park in the large dirt area.
