Chiang Dao is a quiet little valley with many little hill tribes that call it home. The valley landscape is largely agriculture with rocky cliffs surrounding. The cliffs could see much more development, that said what is developed is worth checking out. The main orange, black and white streaked wall itself is over 70 meters tall and has routes ranging from 5b to 8b. With over 30 bolted sport routes the area is small, but what it lacks in size it makes up in quality.
From Chiang Mai take highway 107 to the north. Follow through hills and towns until you come to the Chiang Dao turn off. Go into the town and turn right after a 7 eleven on your left. Go over the bridge and up the hill then turn right. Immediately turn left into and up a road that leads to the valley with the climbing. The main wall will present itself on the left after 10-15 minutes of driving. Careful on this road as it is quite rough!
