A contender for one of my favourite boulders I’ve climbed. A perfect heel hook, kneebar, pinch, with a mandatory cut feet move and a campus finish. Excellent.

Really like this line. The rock is super good. Topping out was a quite the bush-whacking adventure…

So psyched; first climb harder than a seven! Excited to do it on an island classic like this. It took a lot of work over multiple sessions.

Finally! Sending this was a game of patience. Tried it last year and it was above my pay grade. Early on this year I fell off the top move then spent the next two sessions regressing. Then I came out, and a black bear was guarding the line so I went elsewhere. Then my car was in the shop for two weeks, then a wildfire closed the highway. Was glad to get back to it finally; such a stellar climb.

Managed this in marginal conditions. The good divot on the starting sloper was wet, so I used the remaining dry bit. It also began spitting shortly before I sent. The psych overcame the damp!

Powerful and subtle.

What a treat to get sunny, dry sessions in January on the Island! Really nice movement on this line. I found this harder than High Tide.

Stoked to come back and send this after not being able to do the crux jump last year.

I really loved the opening shoulder sequence for the Gallows Low, so thought I’d do it again for Nick’s. But it’s hard to grade when you’ve got that move figured out…

Amazing climb, very sustained. A Sutton Pass king line!

Sweet Arete, and a full line tic-tac-ing from bottom to top. I just had to stay tight and high in the shoulders for the crux.

Just had to grit my teeth and bear down hard on those sharp crimps. The crimp broke (more) right after... Devin was about to continue the send train after and snapped the crimp you match on in half (see pic). I know the crimp has broken in the past, but now it can no longer be matched. New beta seems really cool, but quite different and a bit harder. Guess I have reason to climb it again, ha
