Three Lions – 5.13b

FA: Tom Wright - 2018-07-23

Description:

Start at the base of the gully, climb the overhanging wall to a boulder that eventually deposits you to stance on the slab (climbing straight up the slab and through the roof is a project). Trend right on slopey holds and back onto the overhanging headwall to finish.

full value with punchy beginning, really sequential and tricky crux, and pumpy finish. felt like it could be 8a+ to me...

This was a special one for me. Such a cool experience figuring out my own intricate beta sequence with Jeff from start to finish. I think it is my hardest route to date although the grade doesn't reflect it, even with the upgrade. Probably also my hardest boulder problem too. What an awesome journey this route is!

Some interesting moves on this one, I really enjoyed it. Tough one to grade, I found it more difficult then The Lorax, Big Borther and Little Sister. Regardless of the grade it's a great -13.

Really happy with how this one turned out, super fun climbing on mostly good holds. Pumpy intro to a crux boulder into more 5.12 pumping up the incredibly fun headwall!
