An unforgettable day with Chris and Jordi. Chris showed me this area a couple weeks ago and I was blown away by this boulder in particular. Perfectly shaped like a wave the climb combines all the best parts of the Squamish style: slab, arete, lip traverse, compression and then mantel. Our day started with a gruelling uphill hike in the direct sun. When we got to the boulder we jumped straight into developing action by cutting logs to build a landing. This zone is in a clear cut so there are sticks and logs strewn about everywhere making it hard to even walk around. Chris and I both established the first line which we named Mundaka which is named after a special surf spot in Spain close to where Jordi is from. It exits early off the left side of the wave. I knew the true line had to surf the lip of the wave though.
