Today my saga with Merlin concluded and I couldn;t be happier. This one tested me mentally since it defined my Autumn of 2023 as punting this boulder. That year I think I had around seven (or more) sessions of falling on the last move from the beginning. I had to take a step back. That following winter I trained specifically for this problem but ended up with a finger injury so I actually didnt try it seriously for quite some time. Fast forward to this past winter: I had a good training season with no injuries and I feel stronger than I did. I had one refresher session a few weeks ago, then sent it pretty quick today. Im proud of overcoming this nemesis. Im happy I can call it complete and to no longer having all those previous punts weighing on my mind. An incredible climb I am grateful exists because of its inspiration and personal growth it has given me.

Write up and video on my instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DOuBQYuEnH4/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== For me this felt like upper end V12. It could be a style thing though. I did the original wide bump beta because my hips don't open wide enough to do the cross beta (or rather to unwind from the cross).

Friggin banger. Everything awesome about talus bouldering without the downsides. Great landing, one hr of sun a day, incredible stone, perfect grips. Incredible.

Nice boulder. Hard to warm up on. Low low end at best
