Disparu – 5.11d

50m / 164ft, 24 bolts

Description:

This two-pitch sport climb on compact rock, the best reason to come to The Prow, is an exciting outing. Disparu is French for "missing person" or "missing in action." It may also be used as a euphemism for dead.

Pitch 1 - (5.11c, 12 bolts, 30 m) Chunky, undulatin stone leads to a mid-pitch anchor.

Pitch 2 - (5.11d, 12 bolts, 20m) Step right and follow a plethora of bolts to the top of the cliff. Rappel to descend.

FA P1: Randy Atkinson, 1992; FA P2: Dean Hart, 1993.

Thanks Morgan, Kolten and Shaun for belaying me on the three trips up this thing that it took me to send. Absolute hidden gem of the bluffs. Sandbagged af first “11c” pitch to an incredible full value money pitch on the second. Committing and not over till its over. Great mini adventure out in an area of the bluff that I would otherwise never visit. I scrubbed a lot of dirt and choss and lichen off this thing, it should climb much more smoothly now for anybody else looking to get after it.
