Black is Back – 5.11c

25m / 82ft, 11 bolts

Description:

Andy Genereux, September 2020
Located several meters left of the climb Soaring Raven, start off a slopping pedestal located left of a single bolt base anchor. Make a very thin delicate traverse rightward then a very thin hard sequence up to the second bolt that proves quite technically challenging compared to the 5.10+ climbing on offer over the upper portion of the route. Recommend a stick clip to the second bolt. The builder plans too return and look at a more in context option that starts up left from the slopping pedestal. Hopefully a better more consistent (maybe less difficult?) option, to start will be unveiled.

The slab section at the start is THIN and it took a few tries to figure out. The rest of the route is engaging with nice crack features and relatively straightforward climbing.

I would say splitting both tips of my pinkies near the start of the session, and still doing around 8 climbs today is not bad
