Sunny Side
Description:
Comprised of upper level and a lower level cliff on the main side of the river. Cliffs are in the open and get considerable sun. The river can be good for swimming later in the summer when the levels lower. Sunny Side offers moderate to expert climbing in a great setting. Rock is moderate to solid sandstone and conglomerate with lots of features. Climbing is Bouldering, Sport, Trad and TR with good access with trails and natural objects for backups.

View on MapFollow signs off of highway to Wild Play. Turn off Island Highway onto Nanaimo River Road and follow 2.5k to where the power lines cross the road. Park and follow the dirt road East beyond the gate and towards the river. At the cliff you will find a trail with a set of stairs that leads to the base of the climbs.
