Strathcona is a large park with a variety of different access points. The major routes into the park are via Comox Lake Main (private logging road often with access restrictions), the Strathcona Parkway to Mt Washington and the only paved road into eh subalpine, Highway 28 which cuts through the northern half of the park between Campbell River and Gold River, and the Buttle Lake Parkway which runs south off Highway 28 along the east shore of Buttle Lake in the centre of Strathcona.
