Mizugaki

Mizugaki is one of Japan's premier granite destinations, characterized by dense forest settings beneath the imposing peak of Mount Mizugaki. The climbing here is defined by coarse-grained, weathered granite formations offering a mix of massive boulders and towering multi-pitch traditional routes. Boulders are scattered across steep forested slopes below dramatic spires and domes, featuring technical slabs, powerful overhangs, and distinct splitter cracks. Due to the high elevation, the climbing season runs primarily from spring through autumn, with summer offering shade in the forest canopy and winter bringing cold, snowy conditions that largely shut down activity.
