The Rockies were originally explored and developed by hard Men & Women of the West, Desperado pays homage to these pioneers. Not a new area, but a re-development of the old Cambodian Wall on Mt. Baldy (Barrier Bluffs). Remnants of the old forgotten lines can be found scattered throughout the cliffs. Certainly in the realm of obscure, the access and belay ledge is tricky, it requires knowledge of multipitch and basic mountaineering techniques to safely navigate. Routes on the main wall are short and powerful, navigating roof systems on mostly exceptional rock (as far as Rockies roofs go). There are a few routes out right that tackle the high vertical/slab face.
Approach from either Cornerstone or from small parking area on north side of road. From Cornerstone - follow trail left/east for a few hundred meters to a gully system. Go up gully to base of climbs - which are on a tier about 80m above the trail. From small parking - follow faint trail from scree area up and right through forest, zigzagging up to base of gulley.
