Description:   (under review)

Colossus is a sunny sport climbing area in the Squamish Valley with two distinct walls. The main wall rises up to 60 m with routes up to three pitches, while the smaller wall offers single-pitch climbs up to 35 m. The south-facing, well-featured rock makes it an excellent cool-weather destination, with winter sun from roughly 10 am to 3 pm, though it can be hot after noon in summer. A 70 m rope is recommended (a 60 m may work on some routes). Cell reception in the valley is very limited to nonexistent.

The crag is located in the Squamish Valley near the High Falls Creek trail. From Squamish, drive north on Highway 99 and turn left onto Squamish Valley Road (across from the Alice Lake sign). At Fergie’s Café / the Cheakamus River bridge, reset your odometer and take the left fork. Continue for about 22 km. The last few kilometres are on a maintained dirt road suitable for regular vehicles. After passing a hydro generating station with large pipes and crossing a bridge, the parking area is about 400 m ahead on the right. Park in the obvious square pullout with space for roughly two cars. Walk back down the road about 10 m to a small pink ribbon, descend toward the creek, cross it, and follow the trail. The hike to the crag takes about 15 minutes uphill.
