Shegeng Cave

Description:

Shegeng Cave is a spectacular limestone sport climbing area tucked inside the massive karst landscape of Guangxi’s Leye-Fengshan Geopark. The climbing is set within a huge natural through-cave, with steep walls, overhangs, pockets and distinctive limestone formations. A road runs directly through the cavern, making access unusually easy and allowing climbers to get straight to the base of the routes. The cave stays shaded and protected from rain, giving it excellent conditions for climbing throughout much of the year. The routes range from moderate climbs to some of the hardest sport routes in China, with a large concentration of difficult climbing. The area has developed rapidly in recent years and now offers more than 100 routes across its East and West Walls. With its enormous scale, unique setting, high-quality limestone and convenient access, Shegeng Cave has quickly established itself as one of China’s premier sport climbing destinations.
