Mossydale

8 Sport Climbs

Description:

This sweet, easy to access Crag was developed for the pleasure of newer and moderate climbers alike. The stone is highly featured and the cruxes are generally unsustained. A 60m rope and 10 or so QD’s are more than enough for any of the
pitches.

Mossydale stays shady in the morning but can be climbable into the afternoon thanks to a bit of coverage from trees and exposure to the West wind. The rock dries very quickly with the exception of Elbow grease which can be climbed when it seeps.

Every route (except Summi Slopes) is equipped with a “Clip and Drop” setup at the anchors. Feel free to top rope through these carabiners or Mussy Hooks BUT replace them yourself when they are worn out (think 50% worn is too much).

You can also contribute generously to the Sea to Sky Bolt Fund, which, along with a Community Grant from Arc’teryx, provided much of the hardware for this cliff.

Directions / Travel Info:

Take the Mamquam FSR until Kilometer 5. A very short distance past the 5 km sign, there is a rough 4x4 spur road on the right, directly under the Power lines .

Either turn up the bumpy road or park just beyond on the opposite side of the FSR.
Follow this spur road south in your 4x4 or on foot for 300m. Here the road takes a sharp bend (Parking for 2-3 vehicles). A trail lets out to the south from here.

Follow it for about 50 meters to an open area/fork. Look hard left and head for the orange flagging . Follow a steep trail uphill for about two minutes to the cliff.
