Covid Crack – 5.11d

12m / 39ft, 6 bolts
FA: Chad Clark - 2022-04-14

Description:

5.10- climbing along a left trending crack seam. Sort out the peculiar crux sequence between bolts 5-6 before stemming onto an exposed ledge where you clip the anchors below the roof. Looking for confirmation on the grade but I expect a downgrade if some new beta around the crux section is discovered. Possible extension straight above the chains if you’re a strong climber....Also, could be climbed on gear!

2nd ascent! I think this climb could go at anywhere from 11c to 12a depending on your height and beta but it's definitely unique and unlikely. Awesome vision by Chad to bolt this thing and it certainly goes on gear. I'm excited to return for the direct start... could be super hard! We got nostalgic today thinking of when we found this crag during the #1stwave of the #plandemic.

Started bolting this line at the beginning of the pandemic. Lost interest but came back to add the last bolt and the anchors. Sent second go once I unlocked the sequence. Thanks to all that helped make the climb happen. Grade unconfirmed!
