Description:

Marks the entrance to the Dark Forest of Ewing and on same boulder as Gimmie Lean V6 and really is in fact a complete problem extension of existing line that wasn’t documented. Call of the Wild starts on very far left by standing on small boulder to allow starting with heel and hands on the three lip slopers before traversing all the way rightward. As you pass Gimme Lean’s top-out be careful not to step on flexing hold lower down.

It’s quite contrived but good with impeccable stone, cool holds and some powerful, pumpy moves on slopers. I visited this very remote area in spring of 2023 to sample a couple of the really choice looking boulder problems that I noticed on social media. I was alone with my pup in valley enjoying the sound of the massive thundering booms of dropping snow loads off the big walls for about 5 days and sampling lines without cell service until an area resident showed up that according to himself had in fact developed everything in the valley. He then showed me a lip traverse that he said started part way across long lip of flat boulder. I then showed him that it could be and in my opinion should be started at far left side. We then both tried to get fa of full traverse TOGETHER and could not that day. I went back the following morning and fought hard with little remaining skin for what i have been assured by him and also one of the OTHER area developers that is also actually documented things that mine was the fa of FULL contrived boulder traverse. I really wasn’t impressed with how many boulders were prepped (beautiful moss/lichen/plants removed) and lines even named but they had no documented fa. I personally believe that we should leave the blocs alone and also unnamed for the next climber unless we can complete.
