2015-07-13This climb concluded my sendliest day ever. After sending Skipper D (my first v8) in Upper Chaos, we hiked down to try Gang Bang. I'd spent about 12 sessions on this climb so far and I had all but the crux move wired. Feeling strong, today I tried adding a little toe hook to the crux throw and it stuck for the first time. I kept trying but I was starting to get tired and was ready to give up. Rain was on the horizon and I didn't have much time. A send breeze blew by, and I gave it one more attempt, but fell. I sat for a minute and suddenly I felt really optimistic and like I had a last ditch burst of energy. I jumped back on from the start. As I got set up for the crux, a loud burst of thunder roared. I threw for the crux, nearly falling but somehow stuck it even though my toe hook popped. I flailed through the end moves with tired fingers, but stuck the jug and did the full top out. Proudest send to date, v8+++!
